777 Main Street Brewery

I was at 777 Main Street Brewery at 200 N Main St on Saturday.  There was a lot of people downtown I think due to the races.  I hope this helps are economy.  We didn't get to take advantage of the happy hour, because it was a weekend.  Their happy hours 3pm-6pm Monday-Friday.  Micro beers and well drinks (the cheaper booze) are two dollars.  I was having tall 22oz beers for four dollars during the off time.  I really like this place, for it's really a nice looking bar.  I also like they don't have any gambling or video poker machines in the bar which is a nice break for locals.  I think even for the regular price it's a good deal for beers.  I like downtown much more than the strip.  Seems like less gouging.

Paradise Cantina

Thursday night I was on the east side of Las Vegas so, we decided to head down to Paradise Cantina on 4480 Paradise Road.  It's located just east of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.  Paradise Cantina has the Mexican beach theme and has had a happy hour for a long time.  Happy hour runs from 4pm-8pm seven days a week, and all drinks are two for one.  I had Pacfico Beers that the waitress brought in a metal bucket of ice.  Some of my friends got mixed drinks that are also two for one.  However, they won't give you a double and bring both drinks at once. Regular price of beers is $5 a bottle.  While we were hanging out there about 75 mopeds and scooters arrived.  One had a side card with a English bull dog riding as a passenger.  Not sure what kind of club that is, but I found it entertaining.

Sunday Afternoon at Money Plays

Sunday afternoon we were on the west side of Las Vegas at Money Plays. 4755 West Flamingo Road is the exact address.  Happy Hour starts at 3pm and ends at 7pm.  All beers are discounted.  A large beer which is about 25oz is four dollars.  One of my favorite things about money plays is they have a shuffleboard table.  It's quite a fun way to kill an afternoon.  It was nice they had the winter Olympics on all of the TVs.  Money Plays doesn't have a liquor license so they only sell beer and wine.  However, they do have the usual fifteen video poker machines.

Sunday Night at PT's Gold on Hualapai Way

Sunday I was working on my taxes This is the first time doing them myself in many years.  I bought and downloaded Turbo Tax for business, so I hope I get everything right.  Needless to say, after spending some time with that and quickbooks I decided to meet my friend James down at PT Golds in Summerlin.  We got there around 6pm which is perfect for happy hour. All of the PT's have happy hour from 4pm-8pm 7 days a week.  Everything in the bar is 1/2 off the regular prices, and pizzas are half off.  I Decided to have a large New Castle which is 25oz beer on tap.  I forgot that it was Valentines Day because I celebrated that on Sat night with my girlfriend.  The bartenders that we know remembered us and asked if we were on a "Man Date" which I thought was pretty funny.  Nothing like some ribbing from the bartenders to have fun.  We had four large imported beers and a small pizza. The total bill for all of that was around $17 dollars.  What a great deal!  They also have a 2nd happy hour from  12am to 4am, but that's way after my bedtime.

Welcome to my first best vegas happy hour blog

Going out for dinner and drinks is one of my favorite hobbies.  However, the recession has put a damper on a lot of my fun activities.  I'm from the Midwest part of the country, and every place there has a "happy hour."  Meaning, some kind of discount or special price on drinks or dinner at a specific time of day.  When I first moved to Las Vegas in 2002 it was very rare to find anything like this when I went out.  During the economic boom 2004-2007 I was never able to find anything like this at all.  Now during the recession every bar or restaurant I go to has some kind of happy hour, and I even get deals in the mail.  I thought it would be fun to build a website to keep an updated list and the locations of these specials.  I'm incorporating my blog into this site.
